Our team recently attended the L.A. Comic Con at the L.A. Convention Center on Saturday and Sunday, the 27th and 28th. At our booth, we had Lego Mindstorms and Lego elephants set up. We had a science quiz held for some kids and passerbys, where we held up a picture of scientists, such as Marie Curie, Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Nikola Tesla, and Bill Nye. If they won, they were rewarded with some candy. We also let the kids play with some of the Lego Mindstorms and explained to the parents what STEM Camp is in order to promote it.

We also wanted to promote FIRST so we can inform the community on who we are and what we do. The four different programs of FIRST are First Lego League Jr., First Lego League, First Tech Challenge and First Robotics Competition. We are a part of the FRC program. The different programs have different objectives: FLL and FLL Jr. deal with Lego Mindstorms much like we do for STEM Camp. FTC makes smaller scale versions of what we, FRC, do. Lastly, FRC engineers robots and programs them like all others to fit a certain task.
